Biography:

Professor Guo has engaged in cardiovascular clinical work for more than 30 years, coronary intervention for more than 20 years, and in charge of cardiac intensive care unit (CCU) for more than 10 years. He has trained more than 40 master's and doctoral students, and many of them have won national scholarships and became outstanding graduate students of Southern Medical University. After graduation, a lot of them have held important positions in cardiovascular medicine in first class hospitals in China. The research direction of Dr. Guo is basic and clinical research of pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, hyperlipidemia and coronary heart disease. He has presided over 4 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and many provincial and municipal projects. He also published more than 100 papers in domestic and foreign magazines, and obtained 3 domestic invention patents.

Professor Guo is a member of the Standing Committee of the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Professional Committee of China Research Hospital and a member of the Prevention and Rehabilitation Professional Committee of Cardiovascular Branch of China Medical Association. He is also a vice director of Heart Failure Expert Committee of Cardiovascular Alliance of Guangdong Pharmaceutical Society, and Geriatrics and Health Care Committee of Guangdong Health Care Association. He has won the honors of "China's Good Doctor", "Lingnan Famous Doctor", "National Excellent Teacher of General Practice Resident". He also won the second prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress and outstanding contribution award of Nanfang Hospital,。
